Grucy, disco, twins and chewing gum: Despicable Me 3 will be a summer hit!

Good news for all fans of the brilliant Despicable Me film series: The dry spell is over, the third part will be in cinemas on July 6, 2017. We'll tell you what you can look forward to in this sequel.

Who doesn’t know the exciting stories about Gru, the ex-supervillain, his funny adopted daughters Margo, Edith and Agnes and of course his little yellow helpers, the Minions ?

An absolute villain becomes a loving father

In the first part of Despicable Me, we saw Gru's transformation from supervillain to superdad. At first, he's just the typical villain next door: black mansion, withered lawn, extensive secret fortress under the house and an army of minions who are always at his service in his misdeeds.
After Vector, the new rising star in the criminal world, displaces him from the number one spot among supervillains by stealing the Great Pyramid of Giza, Gru plans to kidnap the moon to make it clear who the biggest villain is.
With the active support of his He initially succeeds in doing this with the Minions, the hard-of-hearing inventor Dr. Nefario and the three orphans Margo, Edith and Agnes (who he actually only adopted because of his plan). However, he soon realises that the three little ones see him as a father and not as a crook. And he begins to enjoy this role. When he saves the girls at the end, he finally accepts them as his children. In doing so, he also achieves his life's goal: to make his mother proud of him.

Even ex-villains need love

In the second part of Despicable Me, Gru not only found his better half in Lucy Wilde from the Anti-Crime League (AVL), but also met many extraordinary characters such as the wonderful villain El Macho or the AVL director Silas Ramspopo.

Gru actually wanted to concentrate exclusively on raising his daughters and producing jam, until agent Lucy Wilde showed up at his door. An important serum (which turns every life form into aggressive purple eating machines) was stolen. Gru is asked to help with the search, which he initially refuses. But then his assistant Dr. Nefario leaves him, and on top of that he discovers that his jam is inedible. So he decides to accept the job after all.
He goes undercover to investigate in the shopping center. After some confusion, it turns out that the Mexican restaurateur Eduardo, better known as El Macho, is the villain they are looking for. His son Antonio is flirting with Gru's daughter Margo, which Gru doesn't like at all. Gru's inventor Dr. Nefario has also joined forces with El Macho. In the end, however, he changes his mind and helps Gru to get his Minions back. In the meantime, Lucy, who is on her way to Australia after completing the mission, has realized that she has fallen in love with Gru and jumps out of the plane. After a wild rescue mission, Gru dares to ask Lucy if she will go out with him. After 147 dates, they finally get married.

Family reunion with obstacles and a gifted dancer

In July, the next sequel to “Despicable Me” will finally be released in cinemas.

Gru is now married and has turned his back on being a villain. He lives happily with his family, looks after his Minions and is also on the road with Lucy as the hero duo "Grucy" for the "Anti-Crime League". Their current mission brings the two of them together with a villain who I am particularly looking forward to after seeing the trailer:
Synthpop icon and disco dancer Balthazar Bratt, a former child star from the 80s with a mullet, purple lycra suit and moustache, who has not coped with the end of his television show, is planning to take over the world.
“Grucy” initially fail, after which they are thrown out of the “AVL”.
Suddenly, Gru's long-lost twin brother Dru appears. Mean, filthy rich and blessed with a full head of blonde hair, he is quite the opposite of his brother. And he has a plan for Gru...

I have picked out all three trailers for you here:

The trailers really make you want more. Just looking at pictures of Bratt makes me laugh myself silly.
I'm really excited and am probably looking forward to the third part even more than the kids!

Do you like the films as well?
Which character is your favorite? And which villain do you like best?

Please leave me a comment, I would be happy!

Best regards
Nicole
